Westgold is the design-build practice of Thu Build, LLC — a small, deliberate firm based in Vancouver, Washington. We build a small number of high-craft projects each year, led by a founder who's still on site every week.

I started swinging a hammer in my early twenties. A quarter century later, I've framed houses in the rain, hung cabinets at midnight to make a deadline, and walked clients through every dollar on every line of every estimate. Westgold is what I built once I'd seen enough to know what most contractors get wrong — and what a small firm with the right standard can do differently.
We're not the cheapest, and we're not trying to be. What we are is the firm you call when the work has to be right. When the cabinet doors have to close like a luxury car. When the tile has to land on the centerline. When the schedule has to hold because the kids are coming home from school.
Every project I take on, I sign off personally. Every line item, I read. Every walk-through, I attend. That's the deal — and that's why I keep the firm small.

Show every line.
Estimates are line-item, not lump-sum. You'll see what every dollar is for, what's bid versus what's an allowance, and why.
Self-perform the craft.
Framing, trim, cabinet installation, and finish carpentry are done by Westgold employees — not day labor and not the lowest sub.
One point of contact.
One project manager runs your job from kickoff to punch list. You won't be passed between estimators, schedulers, and crew leads.
Price changes in writing.
No verbal change orders, ever. If the scope changes, we price it in writing, you sign it, and only then does the work proceed.
Stand behind it.
One-year written workmanship warranty, plus a 90-day and 11-month walk-through. We keep your file for the life of the home.
Tell you when we're not the fit.
Some projects aren't right for us — and some clients aren't either. We'll tell you up front, and refer you to a builder who fits better.
